Discussing Payment Security as a Service

Thank you for joining us, soon you will have more information of this event

"It is insufficient to protect ourselves with laws; we need to protect ourselves with mathematics"
Bruce Schneier | Cryptographer

Cryptography has been at the center of financial services and their fight against fraud for years. The recent rapid expansion in the volume of financial transactions in digital environments has also been accompanied by a large increase in the number and different types of financial fraud schemes, that exploit vulnerabilities in payment systems, as well as those related to user behaviors.

In this changing landscape, cryptography and its applications continue to be a central element in all the lines of defense used to mitigate different types of fraudulent activities and, in many cases, also as a requirement by multiple government and/or industry regulators.

At CIPHERCON ME.23 we will talk about moving payment security infrastructure and processes to the Cloud. Payment HSM Infastructure and the processes surrounding them have been static over the past three decades and everything has been managed as dedicated, on premise infrastructure. The industry is going through a shift, and we will explore the efficiencies that can be achieved through this paradigm shift.

The conference program covers technical aspects of Cryptography, as well as its practical applications in the prevention of financial fraud.

During the conference, with the help of a team of experts in the field, we will discuss the impact of cryptography on the financial system and its institutions, with special emphasis on its uses to prevent and mitigate financial fraud.

The field of Cryptography is going through a period of accelerated evolution: with new algorithms, technologies and innovative service models being implemented within the entire financial services landscape. From “Crypto-Agility” processes and Post-Quantum Encryption algorithms, to cryptanalysis assisted by artificial intelligence (AI), and innovative infrastructure models such as “Confidential Computing” and Cloud services.

The Middle East region has been no stranger to these trends, with the region being the fastest growing Real-Time Payments market globally, with rapid consumer adoption and several countries deploying new instant payment schemes. Together with the continued expansion of BNPL and Contactless payment offerings.

AGENDA

Anders Henrikson | CEO VERISEC

Payments Security is one of the last pieces of infrastructure to leave our customers’ datacenters; but the appeal of a sourcing this as a Cloud service should be obvious to everyone. Our customer don’t want to worry about keeping scarce and specialized resources within the organization or about achieving PCI compliance.  They need to focus instead on innovation and keeping up with the latest trends in the payments industry, and ensuring they can move quickly, knowing that a Cloud service provider already has the expertise and experience to manage change and scalability of the security infrastructure, on their behalf.  Customers are also keen to cut their TCO dramtaically by moving to a state-of-the-art Cloud and managed service which does away with the heavy manual processes of the past. The Verisec 10XPAY service will provide all the security, scalability and flexibility required by our customers.

AIDAN CORCORAN | Chief Architect

PAOLO BASILIO | Global Head of Practice and Qualified Security Assessor at Foregenix

This presentation explores the evolving landscape of PCI and industry-related compliance requirements in the realm of cryptography, particularly in light of the emergence of Cloud Hardware Security Modules (HSM) technology. We will delve into the crucial areas of impact that Cloud HSM solutions have on these compliance standards, shedding light on the various regulations. Additionally, we will explain how Cloud HSM solutions can be designed to align with and exceed stringent security and compliance requirements. By the end of this presentation, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between cryptography compliance, Cloud HSM technology, and the blueprint for compliant solutions in this dynamic environment.
